Support

Hey there! Jot Minder is a one-person project, and I genuinely care about making it great for everyone who uses it. If something isn't working right, if you have a feature idea, or if you just want to say hi — I'd love to hear from you.

I try to be as responsive as possible. You can reach me directly at jason@bytejelly.com.

When reporting an issue, it helps to include:

  • What you were doing when the issue happened
  • What you expected to happen vs. what actually happened
  • Your device and iOS version
  • If it involves the watch, Siri or a widget, which one — those three behave differently from the app itself

Whether it's a bug, a suggestion, or just some feedback — every message matters and helps make Jot Minder better. Thanks for being part of this.

A few things worth knowing

Where are my memos stored?
On your iPhone. There's no account and no server of mine holding them, which also means I can't recover anything for you — turn on a backup in Settings if you want a safety net.
How do I move to a new phone?
Turn on a backup (iCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive) on the old phone, then sign in to the same account on the new one and restore from Settings. Without a backup there's nothing to move.
Siri isn't finding the app
Say "Hey Siri, record a Jot Minder." iOS caches Siri phrases aggressively, so if nothing happens after installing an update, restart your phone and open Jot Minder once. You can see the phrases it knows in Shortcuts → App Shortcuts.
My watch recording didn't arrive
It queues on the watch until your iPhone is in range, then transcribes there. If it still hasn't appeared, check that both devices are unlocked and nearby. Which list it lands in is set under Settings → Quick Capture.
A timer didn't go off
Timers use Apple's AlarmKit so they can fire with the app closed — which means they need alarm permission. If you declined it, grant it in iOS Settings → Jot Minder.
Is any of this going to cost money?
No. There's no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no ads.
